Mechanical and Control Engineering for Efficient Operations
The Challenge
This project was driven by the need to optimise lifting and handling processes for equipment in industrial operations. The client required solutions that ensured not only safety but also efficiency and flexibility in their operations.
The main challenge was the development of an integrated system that combined mechanical and control engineering.
Our Solution
To address the challenge, we implemented a structured process that included:
- Mechanical Engineering:
- Concept development, design reviews, and 3D modelling.
- Creation of 2D drawings for manufacturing and installation.
- Preparation of bills of materials (BOM).
- Registration and delivery of As-Built documentation.
- Control Engineering:
- System design, PLC development, and HMI interface creation.
For the execution of the work, tools such as SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, Inventor, and Ansys were utilised.
Our Impact
Our work delivered benefits such as:
- Improved safety in operations.
- Enhanced efficiency in lifting and handling processes.
- Delivered a customised and adaptable solution.
- Provided a flexible approach to resource management.
Conclusion
Our solution combined mechanical and control engineering to create a comprehensive and integrated system. We designed and delivered a solution that not only ensured the highest safety standards but also enhanced efficiency and flexibility in operations. The result was a flexible, custom solution that empowered the client with improved operational safety, efficiency, and adaptability, while also offering a clear and structured path for future resource management.
